Tierra Del Sol Foundation Artists' Artwork

Arianna Sanchez
Flamingo, 2019
Using reference photos of wildlife photography, Adriana finds inspiration in animals and their environments. In this piece, the head and winding neck of the bird fills the foreground and center of the page. The cool palette of pinks, purples, and whites alludes to the time of day when it is cool. The background becomes abstract as the sky and water reflect and become one.

Christopher Luna
Untitled, 2019
Inspired by “Old School'' animation, Christopher hand-draws characters that nod to the artists who came before him. He shows a large brown rabbit in a pink dress with blonde hair holding a smiling balloon. The character is wide-eyed as if ready to let go of the clown-like balloon. The background shows a landscape with a circus in the valley below, with tiny smiling balloons dotting the sky. This beautifully hand-drawn scene shows the artist’s skill in shading with colored pencil and outlining sharp contour with an ink pen.
