Accessibility Services for Voters with Disabilities

Introduction

Los Angeles County, the largest election jurisdiction in the nation, is responsible for conducting elections to nearly 5.4 million registered voters. The Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk has been working to improve the voting experience and focusing on providing choices to make voting a convenient, accessible and secure experience for all voters by using fewer pieces of equipment and upgrading features into one single device - the “BALLOT MARKING DEVICE” (BMD).

Voters in L.A. County now have more days to vote in-person at any vote center countywide. During this period, more than 10,000 vote center workers are dispatched to over 500 vote centers. As a vote center worker, it’s your responsibility to make certain that all voters, including those with disabilities will be able to participate in the election process.

The following Los Angeles Election Worker Disability Awareness Training videos are designed to make you aware of the issues that some voters face when they go into a vote center and how you can assist them through the voting process to make it a successful experience for them.
