Celebrating Value and Talent
The City of Los Angeles Department on Disability, in partnership with the Department of Cultural Affairs, presents the Nineteenth Annual Disability Art Exhibition.
In October, we celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), which annually recognizes the positive impact of people with disabilities in the American workforce. This year’s theme, “Celebrating Value and Talent,” highlights the skills, innovation, and diverse perspectives that individuals with disabilities add to the workforce. By embracing this theme, we affirm our commitment to advancing access, equity, and opportunity—ensuring all workers have the support needed to achieve economic independence and long-term success.
We are pleased to feature a curated selection of works from the 19th Annual Disability Art Exhibition, showcased at the Henry P. Rio Bridge Gallery in City Hall. It is an honor to highlight disabled artists and the organizations that champion their talent, fostering creative expression and supporting the development of marketable skills toward long-term financial empowerment.
A special thanks to Service Center for Independent Life (SCIL) for making the exhibition accessible through their Braille Printing Services, Talking Fingers.
This exhibition is made possible through vital partnerships with Councilmember Nithya Raman and District 4, Academy of Special Dreams, Braille Institute of America, Center for the Arts Eagle Rock, Create.A.Dot Studio, Exceptional Children’s Foundation (ECF) Art Centers, Korean American Special Education Center (KASEC), L.A. GOAL, Tierra del Sol Foundation, The Arc Los Angeles and Orange Counties, Service Center for Independent Life (SCIL), and Starbucks. Their work advances access, equity, and opportunity for people with disabilities to achieve their full potential as productive and valued Angelenos.
